Santa Clara & Ivins: Red Rock, Art and Tuacahn
Santa Clara and Ivins sit on the west side of the St. George area, beside Snow Canyon State Park, Tuacahn Center for the Arts and Kayenta. If your trip centers on those three, staying west keeps drives short. If your trip also includes Zion, Sand Hollow or golf east of town, Washington can make a better all-round base. Isle 64 is in Washington, about 21 miles from Tuacahn by road.

Stay west if…
Your trip is mostly theater nights and Snow Canyon hikes. Staying in Ivins or Santa Clara keeps you a few minutes from the amphitheater and trailheads.
Stay in Washington if…
The west side is one or two days of a longer itinerary. From Washington you're closer to I-15, Sand Hollow, Hurricane and Zion's South Entrance (about 33 miles), and still around 35 minutes from Tuacahn, depending on traffic.
