Outdoor shows under the red rocks
Disney's Hercules
The headline of the season. Fresh from London's West End, Disney's Hercules follows the hero of Greek myth from zero to hero, with Alan Menken and David Zippel songs like "Go the Distance," "Zero to Hero" and "I Won't Say I'm in Love." It's brought to Tuacahn by the artistic team behind its productions of Tarzan, The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo, which makes it an easy pick for families.
The Prince of Egypt
Based on the DreamWorks film, this musical follows Moses and Ramses, raised as brothers until a secret divides them. Stephen Schwartz's score includes the Academy Award-winning "When You Believe." Tuacahn last staged it in 2018, and it returns for a long spring-to-fall run.
Hairspray
Big, bright and joyful. It's 1962 Baltimore, and Tracy Turnblad wants to dance on The Corny Collins Show, then uses her new fame to push for a show where everyone belongs. Expect "Good Morning Baltimore" and "You Can't Stop the Beat" echoing off the canyon walls on summer nights.

The Play That Goes Wrong
A slapstick comedy about a murder-mystery production where everything that can go wrong does. It runs in late winter, a good fit for a mild-weather escape when golf and hiking around St. George are at their best.
Million Dollar Quartet Christmas
A holiday take on the famous 1956 night when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins jammed together at Sun Records. A fun reason to plan a December family trip to Southern Utah.
Planning your Tuacahn trip
- Buy tickets early. Tickets are sold separately through Tuacahn, and popular weekend and summer dates go fast.
- Pick a rotating-repertory stretch. From July 10 to October 21, all three outdoor musicals overlap, so a long weekend can include two or three shows.
- Dress for the desert. Summer evenings stay warm, while spring and fall nights in the canyon can cool off quickly; bring a layer.
- Allow drive time. Tuacahn is in Ivins, northwest of St. George. Drive time from Washington is approximate and traffic-dependent, so leave a cushion before curtain.
